In the world of event management, every second counts. To ensure that a complex event doesn\u2019t descend into chaos, it takes more than just good planning\u2014it takes precision, a clear overview, and a central tool that keeps everything together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In colada.scripts<\/strong>, this role is filled by the so-called \u201cPlayer\u201d<\/strong> \u2014a kind of digital live stopwatch that can do much more than just keep track of time. It serves as the control center for the director<\/strong> or show caller and ensures that everyone involved knows at all times where we are in the production and what\u2019s coming next.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting now, the player is available in a completely new version\u2014developed from the ground up, with new display options, public links, its own notification system, and a PWA that feels just like a native app. Time to take a closer look. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From planning to live implementation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A direction plan is created in two phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The preparation<\/strong>, in which content and processes are structured.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The execution<\/strong>, where this plan is lived in real time – be it in rehearsals or at the actual event.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    As soon as it goes “ON AIR,” the player<\/strong> takes over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is the player in colada.scripts?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The player is much more than just a playback tool – it is a live dashboard for the entire event<\/strong>. It is operated by the director or show caller, who controls the so-called “cue list” – i.e. jumps from one program item to the next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The player provides the following information in real time:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Timing of the event<\/strong> – How far along is the process?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Current cue<\/strong> – Which section is currently active and what is happening in it?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Relevant documents<\/strong> – presentations, scripts, plans: everything that belongs to the cue is directly linked.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Crew deployments<\/strong> – Who is needed when? The player gives clear deployment signals. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Cue duration<\/strong> – How much time is left – or how long have we been over?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Overall situation<\/strong> – Are we on schedule or is there a risk of delays?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      This tool allows everyone to keep an overview – in real time, live, reliably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Central control by the show caller<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      The director or show caller is the central control instance of the event. Cues are activated manually via the player – i.e. started, skipped or adjusted. This creates a common understanding among all participants: Everyone knows exactly where we are at any given moment.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      This live transparency<\/strong> is a game changer, especially for complex productions – whether conferences, stage shows, streaming events or hybrid formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The new player: a completely new design<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      The player you\u2019re familiar with from colada.scripts<\/strong> has been completely rebuilt from the ground up\u2014and now offers significantly more flexibility. Instead of a single, fixed view, the new player offers various display options<\/strong> that users can switch between while the system is running<\/strong> \u2014provided, of course, that the authors of the production plan have granted them the appropriate permissions to do so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Stage<\/strong> \u2013 large numbers, large letters, ideal for the stage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Progress<\/strong> \u2013 an overview of the show’s overall progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Reel<\/strong> \u2013 for anyone who prefers a sequential, cue-by-cue view.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

Everything else simply remains unpublished. For example, the catering team receives its own link with exactly the information it needs\u2014no login required, no access control, and no follow-up questions.         Announcements: Communicating Effectively While the Show Is Underway<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        During live operations, every second counts\u2014and that\u2019s exactly why there\u2019s now a completely new announcement system<\/strong>. It allows the director and his team to promptly and precisely deliver instructions, information, and warnings to the specific groups of people they concern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        An announcement can be sent immediately or attached to a specific cue, addressed to individual departments\u2014audio, lighting, video, F&B, production, stage, catering\u2014or to all of them at once. In addition, there are urgency levels and the option to choose whether the message disappears automatically or must be actively acknowledged. For the most common scenarios, there are pre-made templates such as \u201cClear the stage,\u201d \u201c5-minute delay,\u201d \u201cMicrophone check,\u201d or \u201cIntermission extended\u201d\u2014so an announcement can be sent out in seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        IMPORTANT:<\/strong> Announcements can be triggered directly through the new Stream Deck integration<\/strong>. Just one press of a button is all it takes for the right information to reach the right crew\u2014without having to go through a tablet or laptop.
